Kinero Cellars
My passion for white wine, no doubt, stemmed from my father’s distaste for it. It’s not that I set out to make white wine out of spite, but rather, he inspired me. You see he claimed to only like red wine, so it became my goal to find balanced and interesting whites that he would like. It didn’t take long as he slowly began to appreciate the depth and complexity that carefully sculpted whites can deliver. When I was presented with the opportunity to make my own wine, it was an easy decision to focus on making delicate and finessed white wines. These wines are not only for those drinkers that enjoy the nuances of a handcrafted white wine, but also for those who pretend not to.

2009 Rustler, 100% Roussanne, James Berry Vineyard
$21/500ml – 100 case production
Rose petal, honeysuckle and sage pioneer juicy flavors of orange marmalade, brioche and citrus sorbet. The finish is textured, zesty and long.
2009 Alice, 100% Grenache Blanc
$18/500ml – 100 case production
Aromatics of stone fruit, lemon peel and wet sand lead into an explosive palate of green apple and citrus. The lively finish is driven by this wine’s naturally high acidity.
2009 Brouhaha, 100% Alvarinho
$15/750ml – 28 case production
Aromatics of stone fruit, lemon peel and wet sand lead into an explosive palate of green apple and citrus. The lively finish is driven by this wine’s naturally high acidity. Modeled after the Vinho Verde wines from Minho, Portugal, this wine exhibits tropical fruits, citrus notes and searing acidity. It's lightly pétillant and only 11% alcohol. This is a great seafood wine - especially oysters on the half-shell.
Denner Vineyard
The finest wines are made in the vineyard by producing premium quality fruit that expresses the site's unique terroir. Denner Vineyard practices artisanal winemaking to handcraft ultra-premium wines from the hillsides of Westside Paso Robles.
The Denners' commitment to creating a vineyard that produces exceptional wines is undeniable. They've exercised painstaking attention to quality at every level -- vineyard layout and management, production levels, winemaking, architecture, landscaping and facility designs -- every piece is now in place.
The Denner Vineyard site has it all: rocky calcareous soils, proximity to the Pacific Ocean, access to the cooling ocean breezes of the Templeton Gap, and excellent exposures via careful row orientation. The vineyard was planted in 1999 with twenty-five different small blocks. The layout and design were based upon the specific terroir and microclimates of each hillside exposure. Rootstocks and clones were matched to each block.
The Denners are dedicated to sustainable farming practices. They keep chemical fertilizers and herbicides to a minimum, no pesticides are used, they've established a permanent cover crop, and use minimal irrigation.
The 126 acre vineyard is planted to Syrah, Grenache, Mourvedre, Viognier, Roussanne, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, and Zinfandel.
Denner Winemaker is Anthony Yount, who is also the owner and winemaker for Kinero Cellars.
